Honmaru Palace -Major Update WIP-

Description

New version here: Nagoya Castle

Update II: Original.
I've added the final buildings of the Honmaru Palace itself, and also started on the castle walls in this update. There's so much to still add that I've marked out where everything is going to go, and believe me when I say, it's gonna be more than double this size when it's finished. The sand tile is just a placeholder until I find a better one, if you were wondering. What do you think?

Update: Well this is definitely a big update to the original, I've added the rest of the palace which more than quadruples the size compared to the original two interconnecting buildings at the bottom right. It took so long to get all of the roofs to connect together properly, but it finally all looks in perspective and finished. It's WIP as I still plan on adding the rest of the castle complex, although that's going to take ages. What do you think? Original: i.imgur.com/OdvYWvb.png

So you have the main keep, now what do you need? The palace of course! This is based off the Honmaru Palace at Nagoya castle, which is actually in the process of being completely restored to its original form after it was destroyed in WWII. It's actually really interesting to look into if you're into that sort of thing. Here's the reference images I used: nagoyajo.info/image/castle/don…
images.trvl-media.com/media/co…

It was actually surprisingly easy to make the sliding doors and entrance, and I'm really pleased how they turned out since I thought it'd be a massive pain to get that amount of detail to look right. The hard part were the roofs. So many different angles all connecting together, it was a nightmare to get the perspective right and distinguish the different levels from one another. It probably took 90% of the time of the whole thing.. xD

What do you think?

First of all we have to congratulate you on creating such an amazing tile.
I'll separate my critique into the categories you rate by.

Vision:
I feel that this does evoke a Japanese/Chinese feel and the Palace you referenced from is clearly visible. Obviously tiles have it's limitations in detail, but I think you've captured the essence of the building perfectly. I haven't seen anything like this elsewhere either, so it's an original concept too.

Originality:
As I have said above, this is an original concept. From the idea to look at the reference, and try and replicate it, instead of just using it for certain sections.
The only reason I marked it down the 3.5 stars, is that it's a real place. I think you could excel creating a completely original place/tile without reference.

Technique:
Not much to say on this one really. You've executed it extremely well. None of the pixels look out of place, and you've created enough detail for it to represent the palace, yet not look out of place as a Pokemon Tile. The colours chosen are brilliant, especially for the roof. By doing so you created a ditherin/anti-aliasing effect, without doing so.

Impact:
Well it's obviously going to impact those who make fan-games or Pokemon maps. I feel that it will offer a variety to those maps, by introducing something not present in existing works.
